Powerpoint

Powerpoint is used to create slides for presentations. Audiences will stop paying attention to you speaking if you include too many long sentences, so just try to include key points and pictures.

Setup

Open the Powerpoint App (download from the App Store if you don't have it).

Here you can choose themes to make your presentation look more interesting.

To start, choose the Ion Boardroom theme.

A new Powerpoint presentation will open.

Save this document in your Onedrive folder as Powerpoint-YOURNAME

Set your screen up into split screen windows with Powerpoint on one side and Attic Lab on the other

Add a title and your name

Adding Slides

Add a new slide by clicking New Slide under the Home tab.

Add a title and some text to your slide

Adding Notes

When presenting, it is often useful to have notes displayed on a separate screen so that you know what to say.

Add a note to your slide by first clicking on Notes at the bottom of the page

Bullet Points

Bullet points are a good way to present concise information.

Click New Slide and then click the text box. Enter some text and press return. Enter some more.

We don't want all of the bullet points to appear at once though. To make them appear one at a time:

Making sure that the text box is selected, pick an animation from the Animations tab

Adding Images

They say that a picture speaks a thousand words. They are right.

We will now add a new slide but select a different layout to the first

Click the small arrow next to new slide button. Select the content with caption layout

If you make a mistake, right click on the slide in the left hand panel and delete it.

Fill in the title, subtitle and add some text

Resize the text box by clicking on the white squares. Put the text at the top of the page

To add an image, you can either click on the picture icon and navigate to a photo on your computer

Or copy and paste from the internet

Four finger swipe to a new desktop and open a browser window. Go to images.google.co.uk (or search for Google Images) and find your favourite photo of a gurn. Copy and past this image into your presentation

Close any panel that open on the right and move / resize your image until you are happy

We want our image to be a surprise and therefore display after the text.

Select the image and under the Animations tab, select an animation.

Playing Your Presentation

To play your presentation, click Play From Start from the Slide Show tab

Project: Journey To The Zoo

Create a new slideshow called Journey to the Zoo. Create a presentation of between 5 and 8 slides describing the animals that you see. Include photos and interesting facts.

Save your presentation to Onedrive and attach it to the Firefly task
